This course provides a practical, step-by-step guide to performing a boiler gauge glass blowdown, a critical procedure for ensuring accurate boiler water level indication and maintaining safe operating conditions.

You’ll learn about the key components involved, including the steam valve, water valve, and drain valve, and how each plays a role in verifying that the steam and water passages are clear and unobstructed. The course explains how incorrect readings can occur due to blockages or leaking valves, and why this presents a serious safety risk.

Through clear explanations, you’ll follow the complete blowdown procedure, including proper valve operation, safety precautions, and how to identify issues such as valves passing (leaking) or partial blockages. You’ll also understand the importance of maintaining the normal operating water level (NOWL/NWL).

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to confidently perform a gauge glass blowdown procedure and ensure reliable boiler operation.
